I started my business in 2004 when it was still a pretty new concept.

At the time, many people actually thought it was nuts to start an in-home care business for animals. As more and more owners started to realize the great benefits of pet sitting, the idea really started to catch on, and now you can find dog and cat sitters in just about every city in the country.

But is it right for you?

As a pet sitter and a pet owner, I know how devastating it can be for many animals to be left in a kennel environment. I also know how hard it is to leave them at home with someone you don’t know. My hope is that with the tips you find here and a little bit of effort on your part, you’ll be able to find the perfect solution for you and your pets.

That way maybe you can actually take a vacation once in a while without feeling guilty.

ANIMAL ADVOCACY


Like anyone who cares about pets, my heart breaks every time I hear about an injustice to animals. I get so angry and I want to do something, but there are so many horror stories and animal issues that it's overwhelming and it's hard to stay focused on one problem.

On top of that, I'm terrified of speaking in public and since my home is already full of rescues I really didn't think there was much I could do to make a difference.

But then I realized that there are millions of animal lovers out there who probably feel the same way I do.

That's why I decided to dedicate a section of this website to focus on some of the major problems affecting our pets and other animals. Under the heading Taking Action for Pets and Animals, you'll find information on some of these issues, along with simple things we can all do to help and links to organizations that are actively working to stop the abuses.

We may not be able to do much by ourselves, but I know that if we work together we CAN make a huge difference.
